The Master Sword is a fictional magic sword in the Zelda video games. It originally appears in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1991) for the Super NES, where Link finds it in the woodlands of Hyrule. To pick it up, Link needs the medallions Bombos, Ether and Quake, obtained after defeating the bosses in the Light World. Link needs the Master Sword to enter the Hyrule Castle Tower, and defeat Agahnim.
