The Bow of Apollo is a mythical bow constructed for and wielded by the Greek god of archery and healing, Apollo. However in the hack n' slash game God of War III, Kratos, an amoral demigod who seeks the destruction of Olympus, claims the bow for himself and uses it in his journey to kill Zeus.

History[edit | edit source]

After Zeus killed Kratos, the second god of war after he killed Ares, the Titans resurrected the fallen god and teamed up with him to kill the gods of Olympus in a revenge trip. However, Kratos was betrayed by the Titans and sent to the Underworld where he found an imprisoned Peirithous. Peirithous begged Kratos for freedom in exchange of Apollo's bow, a weapon he mysteriously claimed. Kratos instead kills Peirithous with the fiery breathe of a Cerberus and takes the bow, using its flaming arrows to skewer all who stands in his way of vengeance.

Features[edit | edit source]

The Bow of Apollo comes with an unlimited amount of arrows that can be fired rapidly as if it was a machine gun. It can also be charged up enough to fire a flaming arrow that causes extra damage.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • When Kratos guest starred in the fighting games Mortal Kombat (2011) and Playstation All Stars, his bow followed him, as he uses it in several attacks.
