The Blades of Chaos are a pair of curved short swords seared the the forearms of Kratos, the main protagonist of the God of War series.
History[]
Forged in the darkest depths of the Underworld, the Blades of Chaos served as both a weapon for its wielder and the representation of the wearer's servitude towards Ares, the Greek god of war. When Kratos, a destructive Spartan, prayed to Ares for the power to beat the unstoppable barbarians in exchange for his enslavement, the god of war accepted his prayer and bounded the chains to his very limbs. Kratos, now an infamous warrior who dominated the barbarian, accidentally slaughtered his own daughter and wife when he was tricked by Ares. The betrayed spartan then hunted his former master down, and in their battle, Ares violently ripped the blades from Kratos's forearms, however the latter still defeated the fallen deity. After a failed suicide attempt, Kratos watched as Athena, the goddess of wisdom, gifted him with the Blades of Athena, a duo of swords almost identical to the Blades of Chaos.

Being forged with the overview of the ultimate soldier and god of war, Ares, the blades contain a large amount of god-like power. Not only were the swords completely indestructible, but they could be swung about via their equally durable chains as if they weighed nothing no matter who utilized them. It also had the flame of a never-ending inferno imbedded in it, allowing it to catch fire on command. As aforementioned, the blades were burned onto the user's arms, and could rip anything apart with a simple swing.
